How to *sync* with your body to slim down

When I was in the grips of my painful and compulsive relationship with food, and struggling with my weight and my body image as a side-effect, the idea that MOST soothed and comforted me was a two-fold one.

The first part of the thought was this: your body is an animal. Literally it’s a mammal. It’s a warm-blooded furry creature. A standing-up chimpanzee.

The second part of the thought was the realization, that without exception, animals in the wild–standing up chimpanzees included–naturally *know* what to eat to be healthy and in shape.

There’s no confusion. They just *know.*

These thoughts combined gave me the comforting hope that perhaps MY animal, my very own female body, also knew a thing or two about how and what to eat to be in balance. Perhaps despite my certainty that my body would forever be tormented by what was in the fridge or pantry, I could after all have a “natural” in my relationship with food.

I realized that while hating my body was “old hat,” consciously listening for the soft, wordless voice of my female body was brand new skill I needed to cultivate.

In this week’s video blog I’m talking about how exactly to do that. It’s about how to *resync* with your body so that you can hear that voice loud and clear, prescribing for you, your own personal recipe for pleasurable weight loss.

Learning how to trust your instincts and impulses again, as you once did when you were a child–before the media had a chance to contort your mind about what your body *should* look like and *should* want–is different from learning to follow a diet, because the authority that guides you, comes not from outside, but from within.

The skill of intuitively *knowing* what to eat to lose weight, in your bones, and not just in your head, is a skill, that like any other, can be learned.

Teaching you to make that connection is my specialty.

In this week’s video blog, you’ll learn some of my favorite ways to get in sync with what I like to refer to as your “very own plot of mother earth,” that’s right, your body, so you can slim down with ease.

In the comments below the video, share your voice and tell me your #1 practice for getting in sync with the natural wisdom of your female body.

Thanks for reading, watching and sharing — it’s a pleasure to have you involved in this movement.

With and love,
xo Jena

P.S. Pleasure Camp SF is coming up in 10 days, on Sunday, January 8. The price was set to go up at midnight PST last night but we had a little internal confusion and the price went up at midnight EST, effectively 3 hours early–oops!–so to compensate we’re keeping the discount price available for a day longer until midnight PST tonight.

If you are on the West Coast here’s your chance to study the art and science of pleasurable weight loss live and in-person with me, without even changing time zone. We have women coming from LA, others from Oregon. Hotel rooms are being booked and room-sharing being arranged, friends’ couch’s are being “occupied,” and all kinds of arrangements are being put in place to allow Pleasure Camp SF to be a reality for the ladies involved.

If you’d like an in-depth “crash course” in my pleasurable weight loss principles, to get them truly “under your skin” and integrated into your life, then read up on the details and find out if this one-day Pleasure Camp can work for you.

Oh how I wish could go with my gorgeous animal to some place beautiful and warm, but I’ll do my best to experience nature right here in cold Massachusetts! : )

Wishing you a happy new year!
