Hungry for Weight Loss? Feast on These 3 Naturally Slimming Foods

There are 2 main questions I get asked around the holidays.

The first is, “Jena, what should I eat to stay slim this season?” and the second is, “What are you bringing to the potluck?”

Due to popular request, I’m writing you the answer to both these questions, in one.

Read below to check out the 3 naturally slimming foods I make sure I eat lots of this season, and I recommend you do the same.

Eating natural, seasonal and living foods like the ones listed below is SO important, here in the world of Pleasurable Weight Loss. Doing so fuels your body with the power to digest food at optimum levels, burn fat like a furnace and release your extra pounds, naturally.

Read on to check out a few naturally slimming foods you too might love to eat, and love to share, when the holiday madness comes around!

3 Naturally Slimming Foods to Pile on Your Plate

1. Fat dissolving vegetables.

Bravo, Mother Nature! You’ve made some tasty foods that also naturally dissolve fat – yes!

Radishes, daikon radish, onions, leeks, ginger, garlic, mushrooms, and turnips are all in this fabulous category.

These foods work like a detergent on the body. They reduce fat, mucous and cholesterol, and help your body cleanse itself of toxins. They dissolve the fat in your body much like a dishwashing detergent dissolves the fat in a frying pan.

Fat dissolving veggies are the cleaners that help your body release its extra weight.  Eat them and notice how you feel afterwards – expect to feel light, satisfied and energized.

Smart Slimming Tip: This group is particularly potent when raw, although you can cook them too.  You can spice, cook and serve the same veggie in 2 or 3 different ways, so that you can eat them daily without having the sense that you are eating the same thing over and over.

2. Dark, leafy greens.

Dark, leafy greens include kale, collards, spinach, Swiss chard, mustard greens, bok choy, watercress, arugula and curly endive.

This green dream-team is great for promoting increased circulation in your body. Increased circulation makes you feel energized – and more energy is a very helpful thing to have around during numerous holiday festivities.

Dark, leafy greens also effectively cleanse your organs, lift depression and balance your mood. They have the marvelous effect of energizing your body in a way that has it optimally primed for weight reduction, muscle-building, proper digestion and fat-burning.

Extra Slimming Tip: Pile the bittertasting greens on your plate, first. Bitter-tasting greens prevent over-eating by signaling to your body, “Oh, that’s enough. I’m full.”

If you’ve ever had a small cup of black coffee, or of rich dark chocolate, you know that a little bit is usually enough for your body to say, “Okay, I’m satisfied.” The bitter flavor has that effect on your body, so make sure you fill yourself up with the good stuff first, before over-doing it on sweet or refined carbohydrate foods

Once your palate becomes accustomed to the bitter flavor, you’ll discover they’re tastier than you might think!

3. Sweet, sweet vegetables.

Sweet potatoes, squashes, beets, carrots and rutabagas can all help you shrink your pant size, while tickling your taste buds!

Remember how the bitter greens caused your body to say, “That’s enough,”? In sharp contrast to that, sweet flavors cause your body to say, “Eat more, eat more!” It’s just the way nature designed your body.

You can smartly satisfy this natural enthusiasm for sweetness by piling the sweet veggies on your plate… right next to the dark, leafy greens.

Smart Slimming Tip:  Anticipate your natural sweet tooth by including sweet veggies in your meal, so you satisfy the desire for sweetness in a wholesome way.

If your taste buds don’t feast on sweet vegetables, you will crave those sugary desserts. These desserts are much less nutrient-rich, and way less slimming than a sweet vegetable.

Instead of turning to factory-made treats, soothe your sweet needs with something that came straight from the earth — your waistline will thank you for it.

Hey, are you feeling as hungry as I am right now?
