Top 4 Fall-Inspired Ways to Slim Down with Pleasure


Mother Nature, who I generally think of as kind and loving, has recently exposed the full force of the darkside power, in the form of Hurricane Sandy.

One thing we know about Mother Nature is that she never sits still and she’s always changing, the current shift being entering even more deeply into the season of fall. And although it could be a time to feel depressed and miserable about the increasing coldness in the atmosphere, and to over-eat to compensate, it doesn’t have to be that way…uh-uh.

To inspire you to keep walking the path of Pleasure while you shift towards a slimmer you this season, I’ve made a Fall-inspired list of things you can start doing, today, to slim down a pleasurable way.

Read on to learn the top 4 ways to slim down, while using Fall as your muse!

1. Go outside and connect with Mother Nature.

Sister, if you are lucky enough to live in a place where Fall is in full expression, get outdoors and enjoy the ravishing beauty! Give your eyes the chance to devour nature’s uniquely autumn hues – the chocolate browns, dramatic reds and tasty-looking oranges.

By taking the time to connect with Mother Nature, you’ll bring whopping doses of pleasure and relaxation into your divinely female body.

You’ve heard of the slimming effect that pleasure and relaxation have on your body, right?

Here’s a refresher:  Feelings of pleasure and relaxation signal your metabolism to burn fat, digest optimally and release the extra weight you’ve been holding on to. Basically, the more you get yourself back into nature, the more your wonderful female body will embrace “her” ideal nature – including her ideal size and weight!

If you live in a place where the beauty of Fall is not dancing around you, then you can create your own celebration of Fall by putting foods of Fall into your home, and onto your table. This brings us to Fall-inspired slimming tip #2.

2. Turn your eating experiences into a Fall-inspired feminine feast.

Turning your eating experiences into a “Fall-inspired feminine feast” is about deliberately creating a celebration of your femininity, every time you eat. Make it your goal to see just how beautiful, sensual and relaxed you can become, while you eat.

“How to even start?” you might ask.

Infuse the colors of the season into your dining experience. Next time you’re at the market, consider reaching for some butternut squash, brown lentils, sienna almonds and crimson apples. Browse around for napkins, tablecloths, dinnerware and candles with leafy, golden prints. And if you really want to overdose on your Fall-inspired feminine pleasure, play romantic, dreamy music while you dine, at least once a week.

Important: When you “fill” your surroundings with expressions of feminine beauty, sensuality and feeling, you will better “fill” your tummy, and fulfill your feminine spirit. In other words, gifting yourself a beautiful dining experience will help your body and mind register that you are full… sooner.

Beautiful, slow-paced feminine feasting experiences will always leave you feeling more satisfied, lusciously relaxed and optimally digesting. This is a wonderful conduit to the kind of weight reduction that lasts.

3. Release something that no longer serves you.

Just as the trees release the leaves they no longer need for the winter, in order to create a space for the new leaves to be born, you too can release a habit, relationship, activity or situation that you no longer need.

These fleeting days of autumn are the perfect time to pinpoint the things that have outlived their usefulness in your life. Darling, you truly can just “make like a tree” and let them leaf! Consider how much energy you can free up by dropping anything you’ve been putting up with that saps your energy and resources.

Maybe you’re wondering: How will you know if you really no longer need it?

Easy: When you think of it, it makes you feel impossibly heavy! Like a giant, oversized pumpkin.

Give yourself the gift of lightening up, by releasing one source, or several sources, of stress in your life.

If you’re a seasoned Pleasurable Weight Loss pro, you already know that stress caused by “heavy” things in your life cause your body hold on to weight. Holding on to extra weight is just a physiological, self-protective mechanism that your central nervous system carries out, in order to keep your body safe.

What happens physiologically when you release a source of heaviness? Your body gets flooded with light-filled feelings of ease and release – these promote a sense of relaxation, which signals your body to perform its slimming functions, e.g. optimum digestion, circulation and fat-burning; a recipe for your slimming down, so to speak.

If you’re having trouble releasing what no longer serves you, seek some help! Doing things on your own is usually not as fun, or effective, as doing it with a coach or an entire cornucopia of women who can stand by you, especially during your tougher times. Speaking of cornucopias…

4. Fill your pantry with a cornucopia of natural foods.

This tip is connected to #1’s Connect with Mother Nature tip.  If you have an abundance of natural foods available to you, you will reach for them, simply because they’re the majority of what you’ve got right in front of you.

High-quality, nutrient-rich ingredients make much better roommates than low-quality, nutrient-poor foods do.  You don’t have to turn into a lettuce-loving rabbit to slim down this Fall – you can surround yourself with all kinds of satisfying foods that have the colors and textures of the earth like pumpkin seeds, black-eyed peas and corn. Combine these with wild rice and avocados, and you’ve got yourself a feminine feast!

A Note to remember: eating foods that come straight from the earth will provide your body with the nutrients it needs to relax, feel full and perform her slimming functions. A wonderful thing, indeed.

5. Connect with yourself, your pleasures and your desires. 

Surprise! I included a bonus tip. Connecting with your innermost feelings, with what pleasures you and with what you desire, will help your life bloom in precisely the ways that you’d like it to.

Investigating your unique pleasure blueprint will help you learn about what will help you relax into feeling divinely feminine – a pleasurable weight loss strategy.

You can investigate your desires and what pleasures you in many ways. For starters, follow the example of other women who are investigating their desires, and reaching for their pleasure. Research what activities, thoughts and actions you feel could help light you up. Take time to sit with yourself in a beautiful setting, and make a list of your most “far out” dreams and wishes. A wise woman named Mama Gena once told me, “Your desires are not too big or too small – they are just the right size for you!”

As you already may know, whatever you focus on, grows. Take time to focus on your femininity, your pleasures and your desires – believe me, they will grow!

  1. One good thing that came out of this hurricane is that I completely emptied my refrigerator and freezer. The freezer was always full, but there wasn’t much in it – lots of baggies of old herbs, old leftovers that were forgotten. The refrigerator had bottles of stuff that were old, or almost empty. There were things in there that I didn’t know I had. So, as soon as my power returns, I am looking forward to buying new fresh food.
