You know the drill at a usual wedding. There’s an aisle down the middle, and people seated on either side.

I expected my marriage ceremony would be the same. That is until my now husband, Sacha, said to me, “I want to get married in a circle.”

Having never seen this before, I immediately thought it was a terrible idea, and told him so. “No, we can’t get married in a circle.”

I turned to my friend Christina, who was helping us design the ceremony, “It’s not going to work, right, Christina?”

But I didn’t get the confirmation I was looking for. “Actually, I got married in a circle,” she said, pulling up a video to prove it.

“The reason I want to get married in a circle of our friends, is the symbolism,” explained Sacha.

“The circle is a sacred container, in which every ceremony has been set, since the beginning of time. In tribal life, to be held in the center of a circle when going through a rite of passage meant to be held, supported and witnessed by all. The circle is the most powerful shape for an energetic container. There are no corners. There’s a flow.”

Eventually surrendered to this vision, and I’m so glad I did!

The experience of being wed in the center of a circle of friends, feeling backed up in every direction, was extremely powerful.

Why I share this with you is that if you are looking to be more connected with your animal body, who I considered your inner wife, then you may want to position yourself in a circle. If you want greater harmony and unity with your female creature, and the side-effects of peace with food, pleasurable weight loss and unshakeable body confidence, then being in a circle is the place to be.
